Born in Victoria, BC in 1990, my journey into the world of painting began at a young age, where I fondly remember assisting my Opa in painting wood boards, a task that involved mixing diesel and motor oil. This early memory ignited my passion for rolling and brushing boards.

At around 8 years old, in 1999, while it was snowing outside and I was eager to play with the neighbors who had come over to visit, my Opa reminded me that "playing comes after work," instilling in me the importance of diligence before leisure.

In 2007, at the age of 17, my painting hobby blossomed. I had to rely on older friends to procure spray paints for me from the local hardware store. I vividly recall honing my skills by tagging the local skate park and immersing myself in graffiti art. Despite my youth, I invested heavily in establishing myself as an artist on Vancouver Island. Soon after, I ventured into carpentry, where my earnings continued to fuel my passion for painting. While mastering framing and undertaking full house renovations, I had yet to comprehend the true value of painting a house. In my youthful exuberance, I craved more paint without fully understanding my ultimate aspirations.

In 2014, my career in house painting officially began. By the end of 2019, I proudly launched Matt Kroppmanns Painting, specializing in custom homes. With an eye for comprehensive house renovations, painting became more than just a task—it was the finishing touch, the cherry on top.

In the summer of 2023, I furthered my expertise by attending the Finishing Trades Institute of BC in Surrey, where I delved deeper into specialty coatings and industrial-grade protective coatings.
